About this course and kit
Oval-shaped baskets are particularly beautiful and learning to make them is an important part of the journey for any weaver. In this exclusive course we've teamed up with leading basketmaker Mollie McMillen. Mollie will teach you how to tackle an oval-shaped base, how to weave a beautiful cable-pattern double French rand on the sides of the basket, and how to attach a pair of perfect leather handles. These will make your basket super-comfy to carry every day.
This course includes more that 3.5 hours of expert instruction and you can choose to make your final project in either the small size (15 inches long) or the large size (20 inches long). Check out the trailer above.

What's included in the course and kit?
In the kit you will receive:
- Two large bundles of high-quality willow weaving rods – all sustainably grown in Somerset. (Please select which size you want to make above and we’ll send you the right amount plus quit a bit left over!)
- A pair of leather handles plus leather thongs for attaching them. (This is super easy and fun to do and no stitching is required.)
- A soaking bag - your willow will need to be soaked for a couple of hours before you weave it - full instructions are included.

How long does this basket take to make?
The can be made in three sessions of approximately 1.5 hours each. The smaller basket will take slightly less time.
What else do I need?
We design all our courses so that they require absolutely minimal
tools. To do this course you will need:
- A pair of secateurs
- An old screwdriver to help make gaps in the weave
- A craft knife

UK shipping takes 2-4 business days and costs £2.90
EU Shipping costs around 8 -10 euros (exact amount calculated at checkout).
Shipping is conducted via Parcel Force and takes 3-5 days.
On orders under 150 euros, customers will be charged EU taxes (19%) at checkout. On orders over 150 euros customers will be contacted to pay via the courier (this is a simple process).
EU customers WILL NOT be charged UK VAT (20%) at checkout so overall they will actually pay less tax!

The course is online so you can access it from your laptop, phone, tablet or any other device whenever you like. If you're on your mobile or tablet you can also watch it via our app, which is called Teachable.
How long do I have access for?
When you buy one of our courses you get lifetime access, which means you can watch it whenever you want and as many times as you want in future. This means you will always retain your new knowledge and skills.

Our courses are also transferrable, which means that if you don't feel you have bought the right one for your skill level, we will advise you and then transfer you to the right product.
