    About this Bird Feeder Kit

    In this brand new course & kit combo, you’ll learn to weave this beautiful willow bird feeder using natural brown willow (willow with the bark still on).  You'll get lifetime access to Mollie Mcmillen's lovely 2.5-hour online course, plus all the materials you need will be delivered to your door!

    Who is this course for?

    This course is suitable for beginners who have a fair amount of experience and confidence in craft.

    What's included in the course and DIY kit?

    In the willow bird feeder kit you will receive:

    • One large bundle of high-quality willow weaving rods – all sustainably grown in Somerset. 
    • Twine to hang your birdfeeder in your garden.
    • A soaking bag - your willow will need to be soaked for a few days before you weave it - full instructions are included.

    The course includes:

    • Over three hours of expert instruction with leading basketmaker and teacher
    • Mollie McMillen. 
    • You can access the course from any device by logging into our website (we will provide you with login details after purchase). 
    • Our courses are produced by our BAFTA-winning team of filmmakers which means they are clearly presented and well thought out. 
    • Students are taught the right information at the right time, which means they
    • get great results. Plus we are always on hand to answer questions.

    How do I prepare my willow for weaving?

    For this course you will be using brown willow, which is willow in its natural state with the bark still on. 

    To make it pliable for weaving you will need to soak it for five days in the soaking bag provided with the kit. 

    That might sound like a lot but it's extremely easy - all you do is put the willow in the bag, fill it with water and leave it outside on the ground (full instructions are included in the course).

    Brown willow is essential for this project because the bark will protect your bird feeder from the elements.

    But we also now offer brown willow courses because we've found that it's actually easier for beginners to work with. It's more flexible and it never snaps when you're weaving it.

    If you've never used brown willow before it's an absolute must!

    Can I do this course with a friend?

    Our courses are great to do in a group! If you would like more than one kit, just select the number you would like at checkout.

    After purchase, we will email you a unique access link for each member of your group. All you need to do is forward one of these on to each student. EASY PEASY!

    Can I give this course as a gift?

    You can watch the course online through any browser. If you're on your mobile or tablet you can also watch it via our app, which is called Teachable.

    How can I ask questions and get additional help during the course?

    What if I'm unhappy with the course?

    If you are unsatisfied with your course in any way, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a refund. Our courses are also transferrable, which means that if you don't feel you have bought the right one for your skill level, we will advise you and then transfer you to the right product.
