The Log Basket - Course and Kit
Learn to weave this beautiful square willow basket - with leading basketmaker and teacher Mollie McMillen.
NB - THIS KIT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN BROWN WILLOW (WILLOW WITH THE BARK ON) NOT BUFF. This willow takes 6 days to soak but it's much easier for begginers to use on this project (and it looks fantastic!!)
Soaking bags are included in the kit.
About this course and kit
We're delighted to announce that our square log basket course and kit has finally arrived! In this unique course and kit, expert weaver Mollie McMillen will take you through the entire square basketmaking process. You'll learn to make a square base, how to put on uprights, how to weave an English rand on the sides and how to lay a square border - including a special technique for weaving square corners. Finally you'll learn to make traditional twisted handles, which are very strong and look fantastic.
The course includes more that 3.5 hours of expert instruction and all the materials you need will be delivered to your door. The final basket measures 20 inches long by 14 inches wide - the perfect size for logs, picnics or using for storage. Check out the trailer above.

What's included in the course and kit?
In the kit you will receive:
- Three large bundles of high-quality willow weaving rods – all sustainably grown in Somerset.
- A soaking bag - your willow will need to be soaked for a couple of hours before you weave it - full instructions are included.

How long does this basket take to make?
The can be made in four sessions of approximately 1.5 hours each.
What else do I need?
We design all our courses so that they require absolutely minimal
tools. To do this course you will need:
- A pair of secateurs
- An old screwdriver to help make gaps in the weave.
- A few more items that can be found in any home (tea towels, large chopping board)

EU Shipping costs around 8-10 Euros (exact amount calculated at checkout).
EU shipping is conducted via Parcel Force and takes 3-5 days.
On orders under 150 euros, customers will be charged EU taxes (19%) at checkout. On orders over 150 euros customers will be contacted to pay via the courier (this is a simple process).
EU customers WILL NOT be charged UK VAT (20%) at checkout so overall they will actually pay less tax!

How do I watch the course?
The course is online so you can access it from your laptop, phone, tablet or any other device whenever you like. If you're on your mobile or tablet you can also watch it via our app, which is called Teachable.
How long do I have access for?

Our kits can be stored indefinitely so you can keep them as long as you like and weave them when you are ready.

Our courses are also transferrable, which means that if you don't feel you have bought the right one for your skill level, we will advise you and then transfer you to the right product. How big is the basket?
The basket will be 20 inches long, 14 inches wide and about 10 inches high. This is the perfect size to make it doable at home but big enough for logs.
