Mollie will teach you how to tackle an oval-shaped base and how to attach handles that will make your basket easy to carry every day.

Who's this course for?

This is a beginner to intermediate course for people who have either made a basket at some point before, or who have a fair amount of experience and confidence in craft.

What's included in the course and DIY kit?

In the willow shopping basket kit you will receive:

  • Two large bundles of high-quality willow weaving rods – all sustainably grown in Somerset. (This includes enough to make either the large size or the small size, plus quite a bit left over!)
  • A soaking bag - your willow will need to be soaked for a couple of hours before you weave it - full instructions are included.

The course includes:

  • Over three hours of expert instruction with leading basketmaker and teacher Mollie McMillen.
  • You can access the course from any device by logging into our website (we will provide you with login details after purchase).
  • Our courses are produced by our BAFTA-winning team of filmmakers which means they are clearly presented and well thought out.
  • Students are taught the right information at the right time, which means they get great results. Plus we are always on hand to answer questions

How long does the basket take to make?

The basket can be made in three sessions of approximately 1.5 hours each. The smaller basket will take slightly less time.

What else do I need?

We design all our courses so that they require absolutely minimal tools. To do this course you will need:

  • A pair of secateurs
  • An old screwdriver to help make gaps in the weave
  • A craft knife

Can I do this course with a friend?

Our courses make wonderful presents. In order to gift one, simply buy the course yourself.

You can choose to have the kit delivered either to yourself or the gift recipient.

We will then send you a unique course access link via email. You can send this to your loved one when you are ready.

If you are unsatisfied with your course in any way, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a refund. Our courses are also transferrable, which means that if you don't feel you have bought the right one for your skill level, we will advise you and then transfer you to the right product.
