The second one was better

This is the second willow plant obelisk kit that I have bought and I found it really easy compared to my first attempt. The videos are real helpful and I just really needed it as a reminder of what to do this time. Pleased with the outcome. This one is less balloon shaped than my first attempt and smaller as the willow supplied was not as long. Really enjoyed doing this.
Rita R.
Lovely kit and excellent video. My partner made a form to support the uprights to save me working from the ground. I've made 4 so far and really enjoyed making them.
HELEN A.
We ordered two willow plant supports. My husband and I made them up over a weekend and although, on our first attempt, they are a little bit crooked we thoroughly enjoyed making them up.We are very proud of what we have achieved.
AUDREY K.
Have received my kit and watched the course but haven't had a chance to start making my garden support yet. Looking forward to making it.
Josie L.
Beautiful plant supports! I’m giving them as Christmas presents!
Julie g.
Customer service excellent product very good .
Unfortunately iv not got round to making my willow product yet
Connie A.
I haven’t made it yet. I bought it for a winter project
Luci A.
This was such a great project to do. My sister and I made a plant support each on ‘Sisters Day’. We spent the day in the sun- with a glass or two- and ended up with a couple of not too wonky plant supports. Will definitely have another go but aim to make some smaller ones as they were such a useful and practical make.
Helen B.
I bought this as a present for my brother in Law and he has not yet made it.
He was excited to get it.
Tania N.
First piece of willow weaving work completed. The online instructions were excellent, seeing the plant support come together was very satisfying.
The only blip was we couldn’t see the measurement for the circumference of the base of the plant support.
Would recommend and have a look for another project.
Julie S.
I modified it a little as I wanted a tall one so I sourced some local Willow sticks that are 8ft.
I learn how to do the top twists at a local summer Show in the Hope Valley.
I would just like to say the My own 2 hands video was invaluable. I could not have done it without it.
S J.
Excellent kit and course easy to fôllow, sparked an interest to learn and do more. It’s very addictive hobby
Mandie R.
A great kit and a fabulous online course, very clear and easy to follow.
Alison H.
Really clear instructions and loved how the videos are in sections…makes it very easy to follow each step. Such a fun project!
Rachel J.
Loved making this.
excellent video instructions which were easy to follow. Other family are now getting their own.
Thank you.
Hayley B.
I really enjoyed making the plant support, it was relatively easy because the instructors were nice and clear.
Elaine C.
Really enjoyed creating this plant support. Videos easy to follow and quite therapeutic!
caroline r.
Excellent videos and materials. A most enjoyable project !
Sue R.
Ive loved making this planter. Its not finished yet and it doesnt look anything like yours but hey ive had a go!
JOHN D.
Brilliant straight forward easy to follow instructions made this a pleasure to make
Myla P.
This was a really easy and nice craft to do, only taking an afternoon really! Great for growing our beans up. My only complaint is that the seam in the soaking bag split (we had two courses and both split) even after being really careful! Just something to look out for.
Clair H.
I really enjoyed building this although I am terrible at following instructions and 1.5 speed through them(!) So, I missed the bit about keep adding in new rods as you create the spiral. I did add a few in after the fact but I'm happy with how it turned out as a first try.
If you want your final piece to be exactly as they show it, I would definitely advise watching the whole set of videos before you start, and then watching them again section by section to remind yourself as you go.
Really thorough instructions though and a pleasant half days activity with something to show at the end of it
Alice F.
Really enjoyed it. Pleased with the result. Probably shouldn’t have chosen to do it on the hottest day of the year
Rachael A.
I found the videos very helpful and it was nice to be able to go back and watch again just to check it was going the way it should. For a first attempt I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to weave and with practice I’m sure it would look as impressive as the ones in the tutorial!
Jane M.
Loved this… a very mindful relaxing experience. The video instructions were very easy to follow and I’m very pleased with the result.
Ken D.
Having hit the ground running after our holiday, which was just after I received the kit, I haven’t had the chance to use it yet, but I did find the video course really useful in knowing what lay ahead!
I’m really looking forward to doing it as a support for my wife’s favourite sweet peas.
Jennifer G.
Loved it. I made a few mistakes. I buried the legs too short in the soil and wove a little too loosely making it broader at the base.
It still looks great but I look forward to having another attempt. I love the music and calm video presentations which are so clear and easy to follow. Stitching in the rods was the hardest skill I struggled with.
serife s.
It’s a bit fat in the middle! Realised I didn’t soak willow for long enough but won’t make that mistake again. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Would love it if you designed a flower trug to make. So expensive to buy. Would be really handy for gathering flowers and produce!
Marie A.
My first experience of making a plant support was great fun, it is a little wide around the waist but that's part of its charm! I thoroughly enjoyed making it and my sweet peas are now weaving their way around the willow, I love it!!
Beth B.
Great instructions and very enjoyable
!
Sally A.
Tried 3 times to get it right but didn’t succeed, I don’t know why I couldn’t get it to get to the right shape but will try again later with my second kit
Catherine L.
Fun . Excellent videos. Great teacher
Josephine N.
I really enjoyed time in the garden creating this piece in the sunshine. The birds have already claimed it as their new perch before I’ve even planted it out.
Elizabeth D.
This is the second project we've undertaken (first was the bird feeder). None of us produced perfect results but it was a really enjoyable day and the plant support was much easier on our hands (and a less complicated design) than the bird feeder. All three of us have come away with something pretty and useable. A couple of smaller ones would look great in the garden with this big one.
Rachelle C.
Bought as a gift for mum and she loved it!
Marie-Thérèse H.
The kit is great as is the video tutorial. Sadly my weaving skills are not so great. First attempt was a disaster. Willow now soaking again for a hopefully more successful attempt tomorrow
Neil J A.
An enjoyable course with very clear instructions. Had lots of fun trying it out. Would definitely recommend it to others.
June
Great kit and great tutorial.
Janice T.
Great instruction videos-easy to follow, and the result was lovely! My first time willow weaving, so mine was looser and not as straight as yours, but I'm really happy with it!
Josephine R.
The willow obelisk I made is a little wonky but it`s making itself very useful on the allotment. It was my first attempt at such a project and I have three squash planted inside that will be trained to grow upwards and around the obelisk. I am delighted with it and that I was able to make it myself, following the wonderful instructions and videos.
Caroline S.
I’ve never weaved willow before so was a complete beginner. The video tutorials were fabulous and whilst mine isn’t quite as good as the professionals, I had lots of fun making it and it looks great in the garden
MISS C A.
I absolutely loved this Obelisk Willow Course, I want to make more to give as presents now! Mollie is an excellent and very informative and descriptive tutor! The videos explain everything you need to know to make these fabulous attractive structures for your garden plants to climb. Thank you Patrick and Mollie for giving me the opportunity xx
Diane C.
Bought as a present, this was suggested by the recipient because she liked the thought of making her own items to use in the garden. She has already made it, and although it perhaps doesn't look exactly like the one on your website, she thoroughly enjoyed the process and is very pleased with how it turned out. Thank you for the good ideas.
Jill M.
For a first attempt it wasn’t too bad but it has got obvious mistakes in it. It was fun making it though and I spent a very enjoyable day putting it together. Now my sweet peas are slowly climbing up it!
Clair P.
A bit top heavy but I love it. I enjoyed the whole project.
Rachel T.
This was great and has inspired me to make more!
Fiona K.
Loved doing it. Happy with the result. Would purchase again x
Kerry H.
Much appreciated birthday gift for my sister. Looking forward to seeing her completed plant support. Materials and instructions look to be excellent. Wrapping a 5 foot parcel was a bit of challenge though - just tied a ribbon round the top in the end!
Christine L.
My husband loved this, his birthday present. Its majestic although its not quite finished. The video is so clear although we do keep having to go back to it to check. These kits are such an original and fun present and in fact I've since bought 2 more - a flat fruit basket and the oval market basket with leather strap. The brilliant thing is that with care, a basket can last years. I have some that I've had for 50 years and some that belonged to my grandfather so over 100 years old. One can never have enough baskets!
Sara H.
I counted the willow before starting and had the minimum required, however, following the video instructions carefully it became apparent that many more whips were required to do the spiral and pull the upright supports in to shape. Disappointed as I really enjoyed making it and would have liked to do more if I could trust the process more.
Trudi G.
The course was great, our talent maybe not so great! We struggled to keep it tight and not bulge out… needs more than one pair of hands!
Jan D.
Great kit arrived quickly.Video very good.
Alison V.
Brilliant idea to do with a friend
Jane B.
Loved making this plant obelisk inspite of it being more balloon shaped than I would have lliked. I am not exactly dextrous when trying to work with my hands so found the fact that I could follow and replay the tutorial extremely helpful. All in all, I'm pleased with my attempt and would say to anyone considering buying the kit "give it a go".
Anne W.
Bit of a disaster with the first one, however one does learn by making mistakes, It started the correct size but got wider and wider ! The next one will be perfect . I would certainly recommend the kit and online course.
Lesley C.
Good instructions, very clear.
The plant support bellied out a bit, but that does not detract from it.
Really enjoyed making it and would try it again with another project.
Rachel M.
Excellent video and willow kit. Good instructions for soaking willow and well
made video clearly taking you through each step. Delighted with my finished item. Highly recommended.
Marta R.
On line tutorial was excellent, instructions clear and demonstrations easy to follow. The Kit arrived quickly.
Julie B.
I made my oblique over 2 days. The instruction videos were easy to follow. It turned out well and has been admired!
Dorothy R.
Had to improvise as I no longer have a lawn. Drilled correct diameter with correct amount of holes on wood. (Using a protractor!) And followed the fantastic instructions given. I’m pleased with the result but know that each successive one I do will be better. (I bought three. First two already gone to family and they are really, really pleased with them!) Great kits from My own 2 hands.
I was given your starter kit as a Christmas gift - star, catalan tray and heart - and have been hooked on willow weaving ever since. Thank you.
Cheryle R.
I did enjoy making it , not as easy as it looks , also I wasn’t sent enough willow so took twice as long to make due to two lots of 5 day soaking
Jen F.
I thoroughly enjoyed making the plant support. The spiral at the end was tricky but I improvised and I’m proud of my first attempt
jacqueline s.
I needed a plant support for my new climbing rose…so this was the perfect solution! I loved making it, very relaxing to be in the garden weaving in the sunshine. Within 3 hours I had completed the project.
Thanks for clear and easy video instructions.
Would recommend your courses to anyone who has ever wanted to try willow weaving
Jane S.
Super kit. This was my first time willow weaving but will not be my last. The video instructions were great and in bite size pieces so I was able to quickly review when needed.
Sarah J.
I loved the process of making the willow plant support. It didn’t turn out quite like the picture . ( wider but so am I!)
and I might do another (birthday coming up.) .
Joanne B.
Great tutorial, but very fiddly. My soil is clay, so difficult getting rods in the ground. Loved it though.
Julia P.
Great course, the video was so easy to follow and everything explained perfectly.
Would definately use again
Jenny F.
Three of us had a Crafternoon along the plant supports which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Each one has its own character.
Fiona T.
This was my first experience of working with willow and I am happy with the result - it will look even better in late summer when the Sweet Peas reach the top.
Wendy I.
first time trying!
Mel N.
Great fun making the plant support. Mine didn't turn out quite like the instructors but it has character!
Paul A.
Instructions were clear and easy to follow. All materials arrived safely and in good condition. Would definitely recommend for someone with time to enjoy doing something creative
Anna C.
Very much enjoyed making the plant support, and my friend and I both found the course instructions super clear and easy to follow. We were a little short of willow for the upper weave though; a few more withies to allow for spoiled /broken ones would have been brilliant. All in all, I can highly recommend this course! Thank you.
jane W.
This was fun to do and I’m pleased with the result. All was as it should be with delivery. I had an issue logging in but that was sorted quicky. I found it hard to keep it tight and shape it precisely but for a first attempt at willow work I’m very happy. The sweet peas are now climbing up it.
Roger L.
I've not taken the course yet so ask me again in the summer!
Missy C.
Was really good fun, videos where very clear.. both of our willow supports did go a bit bulbous as we weaved, not quite sure what we did :-)
Both are now in the garden with sweet peas growing up them :-)
Chantal D.
Had fun doing this willow plant support art Easter with some of the young staying
Lucy G.
Really loved this course. Very clear and easy to follow.
Emma K.
This was such a wonderful step by step course. You can’t really go wrong. Other than the final shape which I found hard to control as you need strong hands to hold and manoeuvre the willow but I’m sure I will get better as it as I do more. Would definitely recommend
Catherine L.
The videos were very easy to follow and making the willow obelisk was good fun. The soaking bags aren't strong enough so I had to soak the willow in the bath for 5 days, not a problem for me but may be for some. The obelisk I made is now being used in the garden
Linda C.
Such an easy pleasant tutorial to follow. Really enjoyable and I want to make loads more now even bigger !!!! Instructions repeated but not condescending you can take it at your own pace and now I have the tutorial to look back on when my brain forgets!! And I am chuffed to bits with the result
David S.
This was a very enjoyable project. Very good start for a beginner. Not too complicated.
J D.
Not easy but clear instructions. Hardest part was getting up off the floor!
Fiona B.
I thoroughly enjoyed this course although the shape of my support looks more like a rocket or a gherkin rather than a cone! I have positioned amongst plants for the purpose of the photo but will position properly at the weekend with my sweet peas. The instructions are clear but if you don't quite understand the demonstration illustrates the process beautifully. I may have to try it again to perfect the cone shape! I thoroughly recommend any of the courses but so far the plant support and bird feeder are my favourite!
Marianne K.
Enjoyed it very much
Like to do more of them
Mine got very wide in the middle
Thank you very much
Marianne Kinrade
Karen
This was bought as a gift - my sister loved making it and although tough on the hands it turned out just like the picture. Great online tutorial.
Scott J.
Couldn’t have been easier to follow the concise steps provided in the step by step tutorial.
Edwina S.
Great project!
Well informed step by step videos.
Will definitely be doing either another obelisk or a bird feeder.
Would make a great gift for a keen gardener.
Susie R.
Enjoyed it.
Melinda L.
We had lots of fun putting our obelisks together. We are still novices but we are very proud and growing sweet peas up them. The online tutorial was easy to follow and thankfully broken down into manageable sections so we could do it bit by bit. It took use longer than we thought it would but a weekend well spent
Joanne J.
Great kit , willow lovely to work with. Video broken down into easy to follow steps. Love Mollie’s teaching style. Very happy with end result, just waiting for sweet peas now.
Judy B.
Beautiful addition to the garden
S G.
Clear instructions and fantastic result.
Alison P.
Great fun to do with a friend and useful product in the end too ! Instructions were very clear
Jan F.
The kit arrived in good order not got around to doing it yet, waiting for some warmer weather!
Mandy W.
I thoroughly enjoyed making my plant support. It was cold outside so I decided to make it in a large and deep tub full of garden soil so I could move it, with help, inside if I wanted to. That worked well.
Mollie's instructions are excellent. In the beautifully filmed videos she shows very clearly each move to be made with the rods in realtime. She explains as she moves what and why she is doing something and gives tips for pupils to follow.
I love my finished plant support. It is not as elegant as Mollie's for sure and I have done loads more spirals than I needed. I just couldn't help myself, it was such a joy weaving the rods!
I will definitely be doing another My Own 2 Hand's kit again soon and I'm really looking forward to it!
